J’adore… Anna Garforth

As anyone who is a regular reader will know, I have quite a bit of love for triangles and geometric shapes so when I saw Anna Garforth‘s work I was drooling a little…

These pyramid style paper objects look quite interesting…

… all made from pages of a telephone directory…

… and collectively form this lovely little installation which Anna produced for Squire & Partners’ street party during the London Festival of Architecture 2010. The event celebrated LFA’s “Love your Street” theme.

And more geometrics…

Anna’s Kusudama lights are influenced by Japanese paper craft

Anna is also keen on creating type from objects – something we have in common… but she gets paid for it haha!

Her moss typographic works are popular…

… and I think the work created in a workshop taught by Anna and Eleanor Stevens to design students at LCC (London College of Communication) where they turned rubbish into a typographic installation is really cool!

It’s weird how scraps of rubbish can come together to make something interesting, quirky and contemporary!
