Geometric Goodies

As a Graphic Design student, you sometimes have to deal with some weird obsessions e.g. arranging books in height/colour order and collecting notebooks – I could spend hours and a lot of money in Paperchase!

Back in the summer holidays (which seems like forever ago!) I saw that high street shop, Wilkinson, had given some young designers the chance to produce patterns and illustrations for their own ranges of homeware and stationery.

Laura Davenport’s geometric patterns really caught my eye:

Striking shapes, classic black and white with a hint of orange and just about every object you could need to kit out your desk – can’t go wrong really? So when I was lucky enough to win a £15 gift card from Wilkinson’s freshers fayre competition, I knew what I was going to spend it on:

I bought two spiral bound notebooks and a felt-y feeling sketchbook (all A5 size); it’s lovely to touch…

(and any excuse to show off my aztec DIY nail art!)

There’s a 3 for 2 deal on all of the stationery ranges (see more here) at the moment aswell, so I’ve still got half the gift card money left – very happy with that! Thanks Wilkinson for giving young designers an opportunity and also to the Lincoln store for picking me as a winner – I’ll probably spend the remainder of my gift card on shampoo and other student essentials (toilet roll) haha.
