I was browsing Pinterest a few weeks back when I found The Print Handbook. As a design student, formatting work for print is a big task, with a lot to consider. The Print Handbook is a mini guide to everything print – ‘Full of examples, it makes the mistakes so you don’t have to.’ Sounds great to me!
The 2nd edition is printed with 5 colours on silk, gloss and uncoated paper, with a foiled cover in 300gsm Tangerine Keaykolour:
It’s bright, bold and easy to read. It covers colours, processes, line weights…
… binding examples, examples of how paper affects colour and the list goes on! It also has helpful conversion charts – you’ll never need to google them again:
The second edition of The Print Handbook is available for only £5. Bargain!
The Print Handbook also have a resource site with helpful articles and freebies including binding guides!
And there’s still more! They’ve also produced a set of posters using Helvetica, Bodini and Cooper Black. Each poster is printed using silver metallic ink on 250gsm Burgundy Keaykolour uncoated card and made up of 8 A5 cards, which fit together to make an A2 size piece.
And guess what? Andy from The Print Handbook has kindly donated a Helvetica poster for one of you guys to win:
@natashanuttall The Helvetica Poster will look great on my wall. http://wp.me/pyROx-Mv for more info! RT to enter
