I’m sure you will all agree when I say the festive season is a bit manic – lots of things to organise, buy and wrap as wells as visiting friends and family to spread love and joy before the new year is here. With everything happening at once, I was in my own little world and was quite confused when I arrived at work last Monday to an ambiguous text and two tweets:
(Thank you to Suzy of Eeep I’m A Blogger, Victoria of I Heart Fashion and Laura of Cardboard Cities for sharing the news with me – total babes!)
I sat at my desk and just thought ‘WHAAAAAAT!?!?’. I frantically logged onto my computer and checked my emails and the UK Blog Awards website where I found Graphique Fantastique listed as an Arts & Culture finalist! AMAZING – You guys came through for me again! Thank you so much to everyone who voted because I really didn’t expect to be a finalist again after winning the Young Persons Blog award in 2014. As I wrote in my post back in October, by entering I didn’t expect anything but an opportunity and I still have the same attitude today – I’m very honoured to have made the top 10! It’s now in the hands of the UK Blog Awards judges until the awards in April 2015, but for now I’d just like to thank you all for giving me a brilliant Christmas present this year: I’m a UK Blog Awards 2015 finalist!
Also a quick thank you to the guys at Total Media a Media agency who I’ve been working with on some great opportunities to grow my blog over the past year. Like last year, I plan on doing an overall post on 2014 but keep an eye out for that at the end of the month because we still have all the festivities to enjoy!
This Christmas is going to be very different for me because after 24 years, this is the first that I will be away from my family home as Jack & I have decided to have our first Christmas together in London. Although it will be weird, I’m really excited to spend the day with Jack and it’s a step towards us becoming grown ups! ha It also means that I will be in London for my birthday on Boxing Day too so I will be able to do something fun (which makes a change as there is no public transport back home on Boxing Day) to mark the big 2-5 .
If I don’t see you before, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
