Whilst London has been grey, windy and bitterly cold for the past month, at Oliver Bonas the team are embracing pattern, colour and even bikinis with the SS16 collection. The first day of Spring is technically 20th March, but I’m so ready for more sunshine and longer light and wanted to get you excited about it too!
The other week I popped in to their showroom to see what treats OB has planned for the warmer months. Starting with March (as we are today! P.S. WHERE did the year go!?) I explored the collection via months – it was like walking through the year to come:
Now, we all know I’m not exactly a fashion blogger… but hey, I’m a girl and I like clothes! My design eye was pleased by all of the lovely prints, patterns and colours.
I was happy to spot plenty of geometric references – I loved this collage of patterns and also the subtle geometric nod within the bag’s fringing detail.
I also really loved seeing the mood boards with imagery, pantone chips and fabric samples – it was a lovely insight into the design process behind the collection.
SS16 sees OB embracing chunky jewellery and a good amount of triangles – I approve! I already have the grey version of the necklace below, but the coloured version would be a welcome addition to add a pop of colour to my monochrome wardrobe!
My design eye was very pleased with the patterns and canvases that formed part of the visual merchandising. The mood board style display was really quirky and I thought it really pulled everything together with energy.
Overall, I think SS16 is looking very promising at Oliver Bonas. Which pieces caught your eye?
