Typo UK: Coming soon

It’s amazing how far word of mouth can travel – to the other side of the world in fact!

Last year my friend (Hi Christie) brought me a present back from her travels to Australia; a white letter N. I noticed it was from a brand called Typo, and after a bit of a googleΒ I found out that it was a cool brand selling design lead gifts and stationery. I followed them on social media and didn’t think anything else of it.

Last week I was scrolling through Instagram when I saw a post from Typo announcing that they were going to be opening a UK store. Woop! That evening, after blagging myself an invite, I headed to a pop up shop n Soho for the Typo UK press launch. It was a great evening with food, blogger friends and lots of really cool products which we were luckily given a preview of as well as a goody bag to take away.

Yesterday I filmed a Typo haul video, so to find out more about some of the products that will be available soon, have a watch (and subscribe to my Youtube channel for weekly videos):

The pop up shop was styled to the max – it was all very Pinterest-worthy! It was great to see the products in situ because it helps to give them context and create a feel for the brand. Typo describes themselves as a lifestyle brand, so it makes sense that they cover everything from homeware to crafts and stationery including cushions, throws, photo frames, wall art, colouring books, mugs and cards…

Those pegboards you see all over Pinterest? Yep, they sell them too! And what about these Eiffel Tower shaped scissors – I can’t wait to include them in flatlays!

With a colouring in wall and an Instagram printer, there was a lot to get involved with…

… including some personalisation! Paolo Taddeo was on handΒ foiling names/ initials onto notebooks for us, which was a lovely touch.

If you couldn’t already tell, I’m a little bit excited for Typo to arrive in the UK. I’ve noticed that people are starting to take stationery a bit more seriously which is great for creative geeks like us!

The UK website launches the 6th April, so not long to wait now. What do you think to Typo so far? Have you got your eye on anything in particular? Let me know if you’re as in love with those Eiffel Tower scissors as I am…

The Eiffel Towers scissors are great and also the colouring pencilcase! I’d have lots of fun personalising a design onto it.

I’ll be looking out for this brand, as I love its organic feel and it’s a nice alternative to Paperchase – hopefully they’ll both do very well, because I still love Paperchase (regular customer!)

Yes I’ve definitely got the scissors on my wish list – can’t wait to get my hands on them! Yes I agree. Obviously I still love Paperchase but I think there is room in the market for Typo, and I think they both have different look & feels anyway πŸ˜‰ x

    Hi Natasha,

My names Clare Wallis and I was the illustrator at the Typo launch, I was wondering if you manage to get any footage of the live illustration wall I was doing to the side of the colouring in board?
Would be great to see some snaps as I was drawing 14 hours straight and didn’t manage to gather images, currently doing a scour round the web to see if anyone has any!
My website is http://www.clarewallis.com where I hope to showcase images from the event. If you have a spare moment to drop some images across to me and I can link you to my site or vis verser.

Great video and blog by the way! you got style πŸ™‚

      Hi Clare,
No I didn’t sorry – I only had my phone on me because it was a last minute invite to the event. Have you tried My Green Cow or Mrs Brimbles – these two bloggers were there too?
Thanks for the kind words about my blog/vlog πŸ™‚
