It’s amazing how far word of mouth can travel – to the other side of the world in fact!
Last year my friend (Hi Christie) brought me a present back from her travels to Australia; a white letter N. I noticed it was from a brand called Typo, and after a bit of a google I found out that it was a cool brand selling design lead gifts and stationery. I followed them on social media and didn’t think anything else of it.
Last week I was scrolling through Instagram when I saw a post from Typo announcing that they were going to be opening a UK store. Woop! That evening, after blagging myself an invite, I headed to a pop up shop n Soho for the Typo UK press launch. It was a great evening with food, blogger friends and lots of really cool products which we were luckily given a preview of as well as a goody bag to take away.
Yesterday I filmed a Typo haul video, so to find out more about some of the products that will be available soon, have a watch (and subscribe to my Youtube channel for weekly videos):
The pop up shop was styled to the max – it was all very Pinterest-worthy! It was great to see the products in situ because it helps to give them context and create a feel for the brand. Typo describes themselves as a lifestyle brand, so it makes sense that they cover everything from homeware to crafts and stationery including cushions, throws, photo frames, wall art, colouring books, mugs and cards…
Those pegboards you see all over Pinterest? Yep, they sell them too! And what about these Eiffel Tower shaped scissors – I can’t wait to include them in flatlays!
With a colouring in wall and an Instagram printer, there was a lot to get involved with…
… including some personalisation! Paolo Taddeo was on hand foiling names/ initials onto notebooks for us, which was a lovely touch.
If you couldn’t already tell, I’m a little bit excited for Typo to arrive in the UK. I’ve noticed that people are starting to take stationery a bit more seriously which is great for creative geeks like us!
The UK website launches the 6th April, so not long to wait now. What do you think to Typo so far? Have you got your eye on anything in particular? Let me know if you’re as in love with those Eiffel Tower scissors as I am…
