Some of you might remember that last year I challenged myself with #The100DayProject? For 100 days I posted a photo featuring a triangle to my Instagram account, with weekly round ups on the blog too; #100daysoftriangles was probably the biggest challenge I’ve ever set myself. But I’m so glad that I did…
I’ve managed to keep my blog running for 7 years now, but other than that I’ve never really stuck at anything for a long period of time.
#The100DayProject was a roller coaster of emotion for me. I wanted to improve my photography, do something creative everyday and learn to be less of a perfectionist/ precious about what I put out into the world. It helped me to just put things out there, make faster decisions and engage/inspire a new community of triangle lovers. I loved the challenge, but I hated the challenge when it was hard.
The main challenge was posting A LOT more than I would usually, but without sacrificing the quality of the images. Sure, I did post a few things that I wasn’t 100% happy with, but as an overall set I think #100daysoftriangles looks pretty impressive.
And I wasn’t the only one to think so – #100daysoftriangles was featured in the official #The100DayProject newsletter as one of artist Lisa Congdon’s top picks:
As well as Day 45 (the angle poise lamp) being featured on the Instagram blog:
Not too shabby, especially considering I probably only had around 500 Instagram followers at this point. I’m very proud of what I achieved with #100daysoftriangles but now #The100DayProject is back for 2016 I’m faced with a bit of a dilemma.
Despite its popularity I don’t think I should continue #100daysoftriangles this year: I’m happy with it, I want to put a line under it and I also fear that anything I do in 2016 will just be compared to the 2015 version. But what should I choose instead?
PLEASE let me know your suggestions: typography? colours? pattern? – I feel that these are all too general for me!

EDIT: I’ve chosen #100DaysofGraphique to include Graphic Design, Graphic patterns, Graphic colours, Graphic anything… as a little behind the scenes of my life as a creative 🙂 And of course, it’s a nod to my blog 😉 Follow me @natasha_nuttall and #100DaysofGraphique

If you’re looking for a cool challenge with a supportive community, I really recommend you try #The100DayProject. I’d love for the UK to have more participants this year – our 2015 London meet up was intimate and very lovely, but more people getting involved would be awesome 🙂
And here’s what to do:
The project begins on the 19th April for 100 days, using both #The100DayProject and your own #100daysof_____ unique hashtag.
So, who’s in? If you’re worried about failing, don’t be – I dare you! Let me know what you’re going to challenge yourself with for 100 days… follow @elleluna on Instagram for more updates & see you on the hashtag in 11 days 😉

I just blogged about the same thing today, haha! I think I’m going to join, but I’m not sure about how to challenge myself. I was thinking maybe nature because I like to be inspired by nature, but that feels kinda too general for me too. And like everything I do is inspired by nature anyway. And then I was thinking just drawing because I want to practice my drawing skills but ehh I don’t know. Or the colour blue! I love blue. Triangles was a great theme! What do you like more than triangles then? If you try to think of it that way… Do you have a specific colour you like or something like that? I don’t know! It’s hard haha. 🙁

HOW WEIRD! ha Great minds, hey? Nature sounds good… would look lovely if you live somewhere leafy and green? My advice would be to set yourself a challenge but not TOO much of a challenge. If there is something you do or see everyday that would be ideal. So like #100daysofbreakfast … you get the idea. Blue would be a good one – lots of options for that! Haha what do I like more than triangles? Nothing!? ha Yeah maybe a colour is a good route to fo down… I’m a bit worried about changing my feed dramatically though because I don’t want to lose my current followers… OH THE DECISIONS!

OOH this sounds fun – although I can’t think of a single thing!!! I love the idea of this though, and your triangle challenge is so incredible!

Hi Natasha! I will be taking part and I’m loving your triangle idea! I’ve never taken part in anything like this before and I will however, most likely be drawing or painting for 100 days. I love a challenge and if I start something, I like to commit and start what I finish, so to speak. What I’ll draw, will depend on what inspires me when I wake up in the morning 🙂
I’ll be looking out for you and I’m looking forward to seeing what you do!
