I just remembered, I haven’t blogged about my Magazine Design project…. at all! Oh dear! This project was handed in before half term (nearly 3 weeks ago) but I somehow managed to forget about it! Anyway, Magazine Design – harder than you think. We had to learn how to use InDesign – not too hard but just weird because its completely different to Illustrator and Photoshop! Magazine layouts actually have a lot more to them...

Final Major Project 2010 – a very scary phrase! We started it today – the most important project of the 2 years! We went through ideas and talked about how to write the brief and the journal… Ahh, the journal. I have started a new blog to write my journal, so if you want to follow all the nitty gritty details of the project you are more than welcome to here. But I will be posting...

Kombucha is a fermented tea health drink first developed by the Chinese back in the Qin Dynasty 221-206 BCE… a long time ago! There are a few versions selling at the moment as healthy eating and drinking has become trendy. We was set the task of re-branding Gaia’s Organic Kombucha which is being marketed in a similar way to wines at the moment. The brief was to produce a shrink sleeve, label and packaging box...

As the second part of our Visual Art Award (follow up to Printmaking) we have been set a multidisciplinary project. This means that we can choose to use a range of disciplines from the ‘art’ family: Textiles, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, 3D, Painting, Collage…. I can’t think of anymore? haha The theme is Leisure which means, that like last time, it could be anything: Travelling, Cooking, Gardening, Collecting…. you name it, someone in the world...

..that I am a disappointment of late! You might have noticed… but I have been indenial – I thought I could catch up! My 365 has crashed. I made it to 45ish (we are now day 94 of 365) but I found it really hard to keep taking an interesting photo everyday! Especially when I started to get more swamped with college work! So yes. I admit I have failed with that. ALSO, Thursday marked the first...

…..Who cares what picture you see? When you’re hugging with your baby in last row in the balcony.’  Yes, I know it’s Thursday… but who remembers that song? Because I do… and I don’t know why? Reminds me of Primary School…? :S Don’t know lol Anyway… I’ve had this post drafted since the 10th of February, and yet here I am the 25th of March lol This project was handed in….. like 2 weeks ago? Nevermind! I’ve been...

It has been nearly a MONTH since I last posted!! It feels like forever! 🙁 I have been so so so busy… all the projects at college are coming to a close now, so that we can concentrate on FMP (Final Major Project!!!!!!)… so it is busy busy busy. I could probably have found time to blog (loss of sleep doesn’t affect me that much anymore!), however I couldn’t. Literally couldn’t. I think I have...

Update! After deciding I wasn’t happy with the background image (of the road) I searched for more images… until I found one that I think works a lot better: Better? What do you think? I’ve also edited the buttons on the steering wheel and the speedometer so that it reads correctly instead of blurry, back to front numbers! Did you even notice? Comments? Well I’m happy with it anyway… so I moved onto putting it...

As a Graphic Designer, Corporate Identity is going to be a large part of my career (assuming that everything goes well anyway haha)… but to be honest (maybe I’m a little TOO honest, if that’s possible?) it doesn’t really excite me at all. Not at the moment anyway. I know that not every project will be really exciting and I won’t love everything I am paid to do… but I just really am not excited...

Who remembers this? Well… 2 days before the advertising project was to be handed in an accident occured with my memory stick (I leant my friend Sophie my memory stick to get some printmaking pictures when she deleted my advertising project folder because she thought it was her memory stick)… so I didn’t have anything to hand in and I lost the PSD version of the above advert so could not edit it because PNGs don’t have layers! So I’ve had...

And so the Printmaking award comes to a close 🙁 Here is the final poster I produced: Mostly printed, but I used photoshop to clone out the checkerboard in the centre and to add the text:    You can see the difference, but I think I did quite a good job cloning the background colour? What are your thoughts? I know that the ‘The London’ is quite hard to see because the purple is dark but I...

For my Printmaking final piece I have been set the task of producing an A2 poster and logo for The London Original Print Fair. So far I have learnt how to screen print to make one layer of my poster – the information section (view here) Last week I was having a tough time getting the ink perfect, but I managed to get a print of the right ink level so then I looked at the...

4,000 views in just over a year – YAY! Thanks everyone who regularly reads my rambling 🙂 I apologise for the lack of posts and updates of the 365 project. I can promise you I’m not cheating; I have taken a picture everyday but it’s been really hectic recently with getting my portfolio ready so uploading has been slightly delayed! I have been doing 12 hours at college (8am til 8pm) and then sleeping and that’s...

Our tutor kindly photographed our CD Design cases using a decent camera and the infinitive curve backdrop in the Photography studio so now I have some decent images of my CDs! I have edited them slightly, here is the difference…  but they will still need some more tweaking before they are printed up for portfolio mounting! They are actually quite awkward to edit because of course my CD design is white and greys so they...
