Last night I headed to the Apple store in Covent Garden to see Anthony Burrill talk analogue and digital. I guess I’m at risk of sounding like a stalker, but I have seen Anthony talk quite a few times – Something to Say at St Brides, Leeds Print Festival and I’ve screen printed with him too at KK Outlet. Why do I like Anthony Burrill so much? Well, I think the work speaks for itself –...

After attending in 2013 & 2014, 2015 was to be my third year at the graphic arts festival, Pick Me Up. In the past I’ve been at the weekend which means it’s massively busy but this year I booked a ticket for the opening day’s evening with Sophie, Kev and Paul (Sophie’s colleagues from Premm design). So, to get in the Pick Me Up spirit, I picked Sophie up… it just had to be done! Each year the...

Last night I popped into Costa Del Print Club London’s latest exhibition, Lost and Found. Blue skies, bunting, deck chairs and cocktails – it sounds like summer, right? (I even walked around without my coat and scarf… it MUST be summer soon!) I seem to be moaning about spending a lot of time sat at a desk at the moment, so any excuse to go to the print rooms & be around hand crafted work really...

For my Birthday back in December, Sara bought me these cool alphabet stamps and golden ink, and yes, I’ve only just got around to using them. I figured that the perfect way to show them off to you guys was by placing them within my beautiful Kaleido HAY trays, which Jack surprised me with on my Birthday – ALL OF THE BIRTHDAY GIFTS! (Beady eyes will also notice the amazing copper wire N from Oliver Bonas which was also...

Last week I found myself at the Book Club once again for the second Printout of the year, this time a Print Special. Originally I was going with Sara but she had to work late(boo), so I persuaded Jo to come along and stop me from being a loner. Hosts Jeremy from MagCulture and Steve from Stack Magazines introduced the speakers and then we were ready to talk print: 1.People of Print 2. The Long Good...

Following on from the valentines trip to Borough Market, Jack, Lucy & I visited the XXX exhibition at Jealous Gallery in Shoreditch. Also known as Triple X, the space was quite small but bursting with passion thanks to the collection of ‘love/anti-love themed’ pieces by artists and designers. I loved the simplicity of ‘Today We Are Going To Learn The Alphabet’ by Mobstr – very striking. Jack recognised the distinctive style of these David Shillinglaw pieces from Moniker Art Fair back in November 2014. I love...

Fourteen years ago a film was released that changed my childhood. Whilst the world had already been spellbound for 4 years, I was an oblivious 8 year old who didn’t choose to read unless I had to (for school). I can still remember the moment when my Godmother’s Mum (Shirley) suggested that I should read Harry Potter because everyone was talking about it. Why? Well, it’s a bit embarrassing really. I ignored Shirley’s recommendation because...

With Christmas drawing closer, the pressure of buying that ‘perfect’ gift is on. As I mentioned, I’m not really into Christmas (although I’ve been feeling a lot more festive compared to previous years) but as a Graphic Designer one thing I do like looking at and thinking about is the detailing. The wrapping paper, ribbons, tags, cards – all the things that make boxes look pretty! So when Hobbycraft asked me if I wanted to...

Last night I was invited to the Print Club London studio for a spot of screen printing. PCL have collaborated with Farrow & Ball and 3 artists to produce some beautiful prints for the festive season. Prints by Lucille Clerc, Clare Halifax and Chris Andrews With the artists and Print Club London guys on hand we were able to get our hands messy and print. I think the last time I screen printed was with Anthony Burrill (la...

When Mr Nutcase got in touch with me about reviewing one of their custom phone cases I jumped at the chance – how could I not when my surname is Nuttall? I’ve had my iPhone 5 for just over a year now and before that I was stuck in the dark ages with a Blackberry. I didn’t worry about if it looked cool with different cases etc, because I wasn’t attached to my phone. I...

I’ve always wanted to go to the London Design Festival, but being a student up in Lincoln, I never really got the chance. But this year is different – I’m a Londoner now, and when I saw that there was also a whole weekend dedicated to Graphics I was so excited! And it didn’t disappoint… Jack & I headed to the V&A just before lunch to meet with the Graphics gang: Sophie, Ben (Lincoln grads) and...

A little while ago I was invited to BLISTERS 2014 but I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it (thanks to my op) – I’m really glad I was able to go though! I didn’t realise that being invited meant I was VIP (I guess I thought that everyone who signed up to Print Club London’s newsletter got an email) so it was amazing to be on the Press list!...

Last night after work Soof (who has been interning just around the corner from gpstudio – I’m going to miss her when she goes off to Reading to start her MA!) & I headed to Covent Garden to attend the People of Print magazine launch: Print isn’t dead. Outside the London Graphic Centre things were looking a bit grey and gloomy, but inside… … it was a different story. And look, my nails matched the...
