At the beginning of April I was invited to the screening of Made You Look, a film about creativity in the digital age. You’re probably thinking ‘A creative film? This sounds like a couple of interviews just sewn together? I’ve seen it all before…’ I had a feeling that this was going to be different. With interviews from creatives such as Fred Deakin, Anthony Burrill, Kate Moross, Hattie Stewart and Jon Burgerman, I had high hopes for...

After attending in 2013 & 2014, 2015 was to be my third year at the graphic arts festival, Pick Me Up. In the past I’ve been at the weekend which means it’s massively busy but this year I booked a ticket for the opening day’s evening with Sophie, Kev and Paul (Sophie’s colleagues from Premm design). So, to get in the Pick Me Up spirit, I picked Sophie up… it just had to be done! Each year the...

The support for #100daysoftriangles is still growing as we finish week 3 – thanks guys! I found it a bit easier this week, as I’m naturally looking for triangles in everything now. After work on Tuesday my housemate Lucy & I went on a 3 hour walk around London (from Shoreditch to Waterloo) which was lovely & gave me lots of triangle inspiration – the city is a beautiful place. 15 – The beach wear...

After receiving an invite in the post (of which I featured the stamp in week one of my #100daysoftriangles project) Jo & I headed to The Boiler Room at the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane for the Arjowiggins Pop Up 2015 exhibition. I really like the branding for the event – simple, bold and well considered across a lot of different platforms from flags to badges and bags. The exhibition is touring the world, having...

Tuesday evening I headed to the For The Love of Music Videos talk at Somerset house with Jo, Sophie, Ben and Kev. First we stopped off at the Secret 7 exhibition which via twitter Jo had persuaded Somerset House to keep open for a bit longer – power to the people! We didn’t have long though & whizzed around the 700 vinyl covers. And if you’re a creative and/or a music lover and you don’t...

http://graphiquefantastique.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/PrintClubLondon_LostAndFound.jpg

Last night I popped into Costa Del Print Club London’s latest exhibition, Lost and Found. Blue skies, bunting, deck chairs and cocktails – it sounds like summer, right? (I even walked around without my coat and scarf… it MUST be summer soon!) I seem to be moaning about spending a lot of time sat at a desk at the moment, so any excuse to go to the print rooms & be around hand crafted work really...

I know what you’re thinking – MORE neon!? I’m like a magpie to anything neon, so any excuse to visit the Sprüth Magers gallery to support my housemate Lucy’s neon project. She’s on a mission to photograph every piece of neon in London, so feel free to help her out by sharing any neon that you’ve spotted with me in the comments or via twitter! I’d read about the Kosuth exhibition in Time Out and with...

Following on from the valentines trip to Borough Market, Jack, Lucy & I visited the XXX exhibition at Jealous Gallery in Shoreditch. Also known as Triple X, the space was quite small but bursting with passion thanks to the collection of ‘love/anti-love themed’ pieces by artists and designers. I loved the simplicity of ‘Today We Are Going To Learn The Alphabet’ by Mobstr – very striking. Jack recognised the distinctive style of these David Shillinglaw pieces from Moniker Art Fair back in November 2014. I love...

At the weekend I was browsing twitter when a fashion blogger that I follow posted a link: Curiosity got the best of me and I clicked the link and OH MY! Anyone remember spirograph? Those little plastic cogs that you would put your pen into and make cool shapes with? Well, hello again: Yes, it is an online spirograph called inspirograph! How great is this? When I was at Uni I actually scoured the whole of Lincoln...

Slightly behind schedule, but last week I was reading my fave free London magazine, Time Out, on the tube home when I came across this article: Friends with benefits. No, not that film with Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, but an article about the different yearly memberships you can buy for museums and galleries around London. This got me thinking – I should probably own one of these! Living and working in London is pretty...

On Friday evening I headed to the Royal Academy of Arts with Nadia, Lucy and Ellie for the Bloggers evening. The Allen Jones RA exhibition opened last week and after seeing the bronze Kate Moss image everywhere I was interested to see the rest of Jones’ work. After walking up the RA’s grand staircase, we were greeted by 6 legs. It’s bright, bold and a bit weird – all these things make it perfectly instagram-able so...

Be bold? I’d have to be pretty bold to enter and ask you to vote for me in the 2015 UK Blog Awards after winning in 2014, right? I love being bold…or italic, but never regular (beautiful letterpress print by Cabaret Typographie)… Yes, my Young Persons Blog Award is still pride of place in my room and I still can’t really believe that I won. As I mentioned in my ‘In it to win it’ post,...

I seem to have the travelling bug at the moment – I only went to Amsterdam the other week. Well, Scotland has been on my list for a little while now – scenic views, tartan and of course, that lovely accent, so when the opportunity to go to Glasgow for the weekend came about, I booked flights for Jack & I before you could say haggis! Glasgow welcomed us with a glorious blue sky and...

After work this evening Jo & I popped into Conway Hall in Holborn for the Small Publishers Fair. Barrie and Philippa (our tutors from Lincoln Uni) a.k.a The Caseroom Press had a stall with some of their lovely work and of course, we wanted to show our support: ‘To thine own self be true.’ – a lovely little message looking over the hall! The retro style hall was packed with stalls and people discussing books...
