So after film 1 being a complete double exposure fail, I’m happy to reveal that film 2 was slightly more successful: But only slightly – 3 out of 50 odd photos isn’t really a great outcome is it? I don’t really understand what went wrong because that first double exposure is pretty clear so I don’t understand how the rest didn’t come out at all. I’m starting to think that maybe it was an error...

In July last year I posted about a #BloggersFilmSwap organised by fellow blogger Nora of Hello You. I was somehow partnered with my housemate Lucy, and so we began our double exposure experiment together. Despite my enthusiasm I found it really hard to use my film (the same ol’ fear of using analogue film) and so it turned out to be less of a Summer project but more of an ongoing project. With some help...

I was browsing twitter, as you do, when I came across a tweet from Nora of Hello You about a #BloggersFilmSwap. When I read the post I was instantly hooked – what a great idea! However I noticed that at that point only 4 people had signed up so over the next week I spent a little while trying to persuade  more people to get involved. Last Sunday Nora emailed to reveal who I had been partnered...

I posted late Thursday evening announcing that I had bought a camera… and he arrived today! Meet Aled: He says Shwmae (Welsh for Hello) in a small voice He’s still a bit shy (hence why he has his head down) but we will get to know each other a bit better soon 🙂 He travelled all the way from Wales to come and live with me, so that is why he is called Aled ( it was between Aled,...

… and today marks 2 firsts for me! 1. Today was the first time I voted. It was only the local election but it was practice so that when the big one comes in May I am ready to do my part 🙂 2. I have been looking at cameras for months now… I have come VERY close to buying one like 3 times now, but finally did it this time! I have purchased a Canon...

As the second part of our Visual Art Award (follow up to Printmaking) we have been set a multidisciplinary project. This means that we can choose to use a range of disciplines from the ‘art’ family: Textiles, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, 3D, Painting, Collage…. I can’t think of anymore? haha The theme is Leisure which means, that like last time, it could be anything: Travelling, Cooking, Gardening, Collecting…. you name it, someone in the world...

I work at a chinese restaurant, and something has been bugging me for weeks. One of my jobs before we open is to clean the salt, pepper and toothpick trays. I do this every Tuesday, and for a while now I have been seeing a face in the arrangement! It was very co-incidental/odd/perfect when at the ucas fair last week, a student at Leeds College of Art and Design told me about a ‘creative faces’ competition that is...

I read The Times newspaper at work… and came across this front page of The Times2 (alternative pull out section of music, fashion and art etc). I really love the composition. The original front cover had a heading bit written on the catwalk but I used the trusty scalpal to cut it out and have glued a white background to it, making the catwalk stand out as brilliant white 🙂 I’m not sure what exactly...
