Live, work, play – 3 words to live by! Hidden amongst the streets of Hull, Emma & I found a burst of colour and inspiration. A quiet but cool and creative area next to Hull’s Harbour, Humber Street reminded me of Shoreditch (my fave area of London) in many ways. Quirky bars serving craft beers and gin cocktails, the most chocolatey brownies I’ve ever tasted and a record studio above a record shop – just...

Cafes. There are hundreds (maybe even thousands?) in London, each with their own style and atmosphere. From the swanky coffee bar to the greasy spoon, they are a hub for people meeting friends, working away from the office or just relaxing. They all have that in common. But what about if you’re looking for something different to the norm of coffee and brownies? You’ve probably heard about the Cat Cafes popping up, but if you...

Hands up if you like collecting nice looking things for inspiration or making mood boards…? Pinterest has been helping us with our desire to stay both inspired and organised at the same time. You can pin for any occasion; deciding on a new haircut, a halloween costume, redecorating your flat or planning a wedding (Apparently every girl has a secret wedding Pinterest board, but I don’t… yet). I often use the phrase ‘Pinterest-worthy’ to describe beautiful...

Whilst London has been grey, windy and bitterly cold for the past month, at Oliver Bonas the team are embracing pattern, colour and even bikinis with the SS16 collection. The first day of Spring is technically 20th March, but I’m so ready for more sunshine and longer light and wanted to get you excited about it too! The other week I popped in to their showroom to see what treats OB has planned for the warmer...

At the start of December Pantone announced the new ‘colour of the year’… which actually turned out to be two colours. Personally I think choosing two colours is kinda defeating the object of the game/ breaking the rules!? …but nevermind because they do look nice together. I might be going off on a tangent here, but part of me wonders if it’s a gender related symbol of equality? Pink for girls and blue for boys… gently...

I’m a bit behind, (better late than never) but the other week I popped into St Brides Library with Soofiya and Sara to see Emily Martin’s Pantone Postcard Project. (I think it’s finished now, but wanted to share it with you guys anyway!) The 100 postcards, mainly contributed from creatives in the USA, were displayed in colour order creating a rainbow. Both the front and back were on show, showcasing the stamps and messages from participants. A variety of mediums...

Week four of #100daysoftriangles has been the busiest yet, with one photo proving very popular. Usually my Instagrams are averaging between 30-40 likes, but this week my phone has been buzzing non-stop with notifications even 3 days after I had posted it. I haven’t worked out where the unexpected popularity came from, but I’m pretty amazed by the 305 likes! Eeeek! All of the triangle love 🙂 So, over a quarter of the way now...

For my Birthday back in December, Sara bought me these cool alphabet stamps and golden ink, and yes, I’ve only just got around to using them. I figured that the perfect way to show them off to you guys was by placing them within my beautiful Kaleido HAY trays, which Jack surprised me with on my Birthday – ALL OF THE BIRTHDAY GIFTS! (Beady eyes will also notice the amazing copper wire N from Oliver Bonas which was also...

So it’s that time of the year again – no I’m not talking health kick diets or resolutions, but the Pantone of the Year. What does this mean? Well, that trends will be forecast, products created and creatives will either love it or hate it. Pantone started announcing their ‘colour of the year’ in 2000, and 15 years on, after 2014’s ‘Radiant Orchid’ we are met by Marsala. What is Marsala? Most of us will be familiar...

On Friday evening I headed to the Royal Academy of Arts with Nadia, Lucy and Ellie for the Bloggers evening. The Allen Jones RA exhibition opened last week and after seeing the bronze Kate Moss image everywhere I was interested to see the rest of Jones’ work. After walking up the RA’s grand staircase, we were greeted by 6 legs. It’s bright, bold and a bit weird – all these things make it perfectly instagram-able so...

A new craze has taken over the UK recently. No, I’m not talking about loom bands – it’s the Holi One colour festival. If you don’t know what it is (where have you been?), basically it’s a copy of the Hindu HOLI festival – one of the most famous celebrations in the northern parts of India. The Hindu-Festival celebrates the victory of the good over the bad and the beginning of the spring but Holi One is...

When I’m in London I tend to spend a lot of my time in the East as its where my friends live/hang out, but at the weekend Nadia and I ventured West to the ‘posh’ area of London – Chelsea, darling. First stop was Portobello Road/Market! It was a beautiful day with blue skies and plenty of sun, making the rainbow of buildings dazzle even more. I can imagine the people who live in these...

Happy New Year – welcome to 2014! So word on the street is that Emerald Green is sooooo last year (sob, I miss it already) and 2014 is all about the 18-3224 TCX- that’s Radiant Orchid to you and me. So what is Radiant Orchid? Pantone describe it as “an enchanting harmony of fushcia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws...
