&  Scott Marc Berry, a 3rd year at Leeds College of Art. & I love the simplicity & sophistication of this project! Graphic Designers always seem to have a fascination with ampersands & who can blame us? They look cool & are a lovely way of saying & 🙂 Which is your favourite ampersand? I like the cute little tails on Harrington! & Such a cute ‘campaign’ pushing for the use of ampersands of all...

Another of my Behance discoveries – Ersinhan Ersin. His work is really interesting: He hates 2D posters…. and I’m glad! I love this – the shadows are clever! And another great piece of his work… What a great idea – printing on rubbish bags for the ‘Rubbish Art Festival 09’. I also love the screwed up trash programmes: One of those times when going with the obvious works really well.

Jonathon Davies’ temperature associated colour based calendar for 2008 is ironically really cool or HOT… Depends where you come from I think!? What I’m trying to say is: I think it’s great! I love the front cover – a typographical summary of the year using an adjective to describe each month. Bold, colourful, simple and effective, the calendar is more focused on the visual but still functional. I think I would have prefered it to be one long piece, instead of...

This guy has been popping up for a while now. He’s only a year older than me but has already acomplished so much! Rishi Sodha. I am so jealous of his work: Ohhh it’s so pretty! Wow. The only word needed really, but I love that he has managed to use the rainbow colours, but kept it from looking tacky/child-like. How they’re folded is perfect because it shows a snippet of the whole poster… makes me want...

It was my first anniversary on the 14th (Saturday just passed) – one whole year! I don’t see my boyfriend a lot because he works in Milton Keynes, but he came home so we could spend the whole weekend together. We planned a picnic on the beach, which is where we went in the early days and also for our 6 month-iversary on Valentines day! I prepared the picnic: Chicken and mayonnaise salad sandwiches, a giant chicken...

I love watercolour fashion illustrations, and I have tried my hand at blending watercolours several times but have not succeeded yet! Sasha Prood has deffinitely got it down to a tee though. I love her watercolour letters… the colours… the textures 🙂 The bleeding edges are really effective in contrast to the hard, square letterforms I really love the 3D element of this one! I am presuming that she achieved these effects is by using a stencil?...

As the second part of our Visual Art Award (follow up to Printmaking) we have been set a multidisciplinary project. This means that we can choose to use a range of disciplines from the ‘art’ family: Textiles, Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography, 3D, Painting, Collage…. I can’t think of anymore? haha The theme is Leisure which means, that like last time, it could be anything: Travelling, Cooking, Gardening, Collecting…. you name it, someone in the world...

Last time I did a packaging ‘special’, I said I would try to do one every month – that was September 2009! So that didn’t go too well, but nevermind… I’ve had other things on my mind, but packaging in the background 🙂 Strangely, my computer doesn’t like thedieline website anymore so I have been using Lovely Packaginga bit more, and also have been taking the opportunity to look at packaging at college under the packaging project we are...

Back in September 2009 I was just starting a typographic CD project. At the time I was looking for fashion illustration imagery showing use of ink and watercolour, and I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for… doesn’t it always happen like that? You see a lot of something and then when you need it you can’t find it? Well anyway, I really like the fashion illustration style so often search behance, flickr and...

via Mel and Michelle’s Daily Design Fix : A Lady Gaga Pokerface parody about Typefaces… for Graphic Design geeks all over the world 🙂 I love Lady Gaga and I love Graphic Design… so this is perfect! Not to mention, hilarious… you have to love geeks trying to be sexy Download an mp3 of the song here and play it over and over again…

I found this video via Effektive – who I J’adore haha If you love printmaking, letterpress, typography, posters or just Graphic Design in general…. you MUST watch this! 8 minutes of your life, well spent/enjoyed. I love the opening quote: ‘Advertising without posters is like fishing without worms(have I got that right?)’ And I just love everything in this video – I wish I could go to Nashville to see it all happening/ get my own...

Greig Anderson is Effektive; ‘an independant design agency based in Glasgow’ – and he ROCKS. I love pretty much everything I have seen on the website and blog so far… Especially the mailer which makes me really excited/ nervous about having to rpoduce my own in the future if this is what I’m up against haha  (If anyone would like to buy me one for £6 as a late Birthday present… be my guest!) I also really like...

via Vivid underground : Roland Tiangco’s ‘Dirty Poster’ is my kind of design… fun, interactive, witty and beautiful. How amazing is that? I also really like how although there is really only supposed to be one outcome, many different ones can be achieved because not everyone will smudge the ink in the same way will they? 🙂 Very nice! P.s. I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty! I would love one of these posters ($80 a...
