There’s nothing quite like flicking through a fashion magazine on a Sunday morning; Instagrammable fashion, Pinterest worthy scenery and the feeling of paper between your fingers. But there’s more to those glossy fashion magazine pages than meets the eye: Photo shoots costing thousands of pounds, hours in planning and production, and then there’s the retouching afterwards too! What do you do with magazines after you’ve read them? Do they just collect dust in your room?...

The other week I went to a talk hosted by Intern Magazine, who I posted about a few moons ago. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’ll already know my feelings on internships (I won’t go into a rant right now but see my screen printed Fresh Meat posters to get the jist ha) but if you’re new to the topic/debate then I’d definitely recommend you check out Intern magazine to get...

I love magazines. The smell, the feeling of paper between my fingers and being able to tear out things to keep – all things that you can’t get from looking at a screen. Sure, I love living in a digital age with the world at our fingertips, but I couldn’t imagine learning to read from a Kindle instead of a book. You all know that I’m a big supporter of print; Print Isn’t Dead! So...

Last week I posted about the Fedrigoni Made In Italy exhibition, but earlier in the evening that Thursday Soofiya, Sherida, Sara and I had been to another event. TWO EVENTS IN ONE NIGHT? I know, I didn’t think it could be done either but we did it! We couldn’t miss the launch of the latest People of Print magazine; Element 003 and the People of Print book. (P.S. keep reading to the bottom for something cool) Hosted within the London Graphic Centre in...

Last week I found myself at the Book Club once again for the second Printout of the year, this time a Print Special. Originally I was going with Sara but she had to work late(boo), so I persuaded Jo to come along and stop me from being a loner. Hosts Jeremy from MagCulture and Steve from Stack Magazines introduced the speakers and then we were ready to talk print: 1.People of Print 2. The Long Good...

Back in January I attended my first Printout talk after seeing a tweet from Stack Magazines. Sorry that it’s taken me this long to get around to posting about it (oops) but after attending another Printout talk (which I’m posting on Wednesday, so check back!) I thought it was about time I got my act together. Sara & I headed to The Book Club in Shoreditch where whilst queuing, we were pleasantly surprised to be...

Last night I was very excited to attended the Cosmo Blog Awards 2014. Graphique Fantastique was shortlisted for ‘Best Careers Blog’ which I was so pleased about, especially when Cosmo revealed that around 47,000 blogs entered – WOW! I feel so lucky to have support from you guys – I couldn’t have done it without you! (Charli, Sara and Jake showing some support on snapchat) As a ‘design blogger’? (I don’t really know what you...

Last night after work Soof (who has been interning just around the corner from gpstudio – I’m going to miss her when she goes off to Reading to start her MA!) & I headed to Covent Garden to attend the People of Print magazine launch: Print isn’t dead. Outside the London Graphic Centre things were looking a bit grey and gloomy, but inside… … it was a different story. And look, my nails matched the...

I just remembered, I haven’t blogged about my Magazine Design project…. at all! Oh dear! This project was handed in before half term (nearly 3 weeks ago) but I somehow managed to forget about it! Anyway, Magazine Design – harder than you think. We had to learn how to use InDesign – not too hard but just weird because its completely different to Illustrator and Photoshop! Magazine layouts actually have a lot more to them...

OMG! You might (hopefully) remember my work for the Improbable Product Project where I invented Geek Repellent and branded it Glitch? WELL my work has been featured on Trendhunter.com! Yeah, I’ve never heard of it before BUT it’s an American magazine and the article has had 1013 views (so far) and I’m 4th hottest thing in 24hours :)! Ahhhhhh! So exciting 🙂 Check out the article online here or scroll down for a print screen on the page…. 🙂 Woooo!
