I’ve never been much of a doodler – I think that’s where my sketchbook perfectionism comes into play. Even at school I always wanted my exercise books to look ordered and ‘perfect’. Being organised is great, but not so great for creativity – being too systematic takes away an element of the freedom. Armed with a Tombow ABT dual brush pen, I set myself a challenge to loosen up and basically learn to doodle. Keeping it simple...

On Tuesday I headed to YCN in Shoreditch for a talk about Brand Collaborations. As a student the YCN shop used to be a ‘must’ when I came to visit London, but I don’t think I’ve visited since I have lived here – this post in July 2013 with Emma & Sara was probably the last time! YCN, short for You Can Now (although it used to be Young Creative Network), is a creative organisation helping young...

Waving goodbye to the countryside! 12.00pm – Interview time – Great feedback and advice, thanks Louis! 2.00pm – Popped into Scream...

Happy Triangle Friday! It’s mad to think that I’m 10 weeks away from completing a whole years worth of Tri Fri features! I haven’t decided what I’m going to do just yet – would you miss Triangle Fridays if they ended? But before that, there’s still 10 more posts at least! I found Tauba Auerbach’s work on Pinterest the other week and was instantly drawn to it. I wonder why…? The splash on her website...

Back home the nearest Paperchase is a 40min trip to Peterborough, so moving to the city (aww I’m such a country girl) and having one in Lincoln centre is a treat for me (but not so much for my purse!). I love popping in there to look at the cards, sketchbooks and all the lovely patterns on the wrapping paper. They do a lot of grid-ish and triangular patterns which you might have picked up...

A is for Autumn. A is also for Accessorize. The other day I nipped into Accessorize and picked up their latest ‘lookbook/catalogue’ for Autumn/Winter 2011. I think the reason for me picking it up was a mixture of: being a girl and liking Accessorize products, being a temp sales assistant over the summer I feel a bit of loyalty to the brand now? haha and also because I’m a graphic designer and I just like...
