Welcome to my new feature – Triangle Fridays! Every Friday I’m going to post about something triangular – what a great way to start the weekend! As it’s the first post there’s a lot of pressure, but here goes… Seeing as I was at D&AD New Blood this week, I thought it was only right that I feature some student work (yet to do my full post on New Blood) and this was my favourite:...

Anyone reading this will know that I love to blog. I’ve owned my blog for 1210 days  now and have racked up 311 posts – that is nearly equivalent to a post every 4 days! Some might say I’m obsessed or addicted but as a Graphic Design student I find it to be really beneficial and helpful in getting my work ‘out there’. It seems so long ago now (as I am behind) but back...

On Tuesday I attended a rubber stamp workshop ran by the lovely Stephen Fowler. I blogged about it earlier for the course blog but I still have plenty to show you here! I had heard of rubber stamping before as Lucy had one made professionally for her Limited Edition project, however I hadn’t really thought about using one. You’d be surprised what you can produce from cutting a rubber though… Stephen showed us some of his...

As anyone who is a regular reader will know, I have quite a bit of love for triangles and geometric shapes so when I saw Anna Garforth’s work I was drooling a little… These pyramid style paper objects look quite interesting… … all made from pages of a telephone directory… … and collectively form this lovely little installation which Anna produced for Squire & Partners’ street party during the London Festival of Architecture 2010. The event celebrated...

It’s all a bit exciting when you get live briefs – a chance to get your work out into the real world! Still, a bit daunting too! This month Amy, who currently does most of the nightlife flyers/design work, kindly persuaded SCY to start a design competition. This is going to be a monthly thing hopefully so watch this space! The brief was to create an A6  flyer for a new night at nightclub SCY,...

This post has been planned for a while now… oops! Better late than never 🙂 Designmonat is a Design Festival in Graz, Austria 2009 was the first year and it had a beautiful Graphic style (not so much a fan of the 2010 version) by Christoph Almasy, Franz-Xaver Daublebsky and Isabella Thaller. Cute little button badges <3 I love the clashing bright colours used. It gives a funky, fresh and young feel to the identity...
