What’s in the window?

It’s the last year that BA (Hons) Graphic Design (and a few other creative courses) will be housed in Thomas Parker House as by September 2013 there will be a brand new building on campus for the new and continuing students. TPH (as we call it) used to be a Co-Op department store and I’ve heard some lovely little stories about how an elderly lady used to still try and get in to buy her milk after it had changed into a University owned building – ahhh bless!

With the history of the building being a shop, we have the great opportunity to decorate the ‘shop’ window on the ground floor. Before my time at Lincoln, the window had been used to produce some great displays and gain attention from all over the world ( Tom Lovell & Shaun Hughes I have spoken about here) but it has been a bit neglected in recent years. That is about to change though, as now is the time to take advantage of the window and show the world what we get upto in TPH! And to start us off, the 2nd years have been working with Philippa & Barrie to keep the window looking lovely:

Philippa, Barrie and visiting lecturer Tamar MacLellan installing the display!

All this work was produced in 3 hours – speedy!

Looks like great fun – nice work 2nd years, I’m a little jealous 🙂 You can find out more about the work on the course blog.

What’s going to be in the window next…?
