A new space

I’ve been moved home for 19 days but it feels like 4 months – everything seems so slow around here. I had way too much stuff at Uni to fit back into my old room at home so it’s been a long process of sifting, sorting and getting rid (which I should be good at by now really). Finally I can see my floor and I even have a desk space:

So it’s not quite as good as before and a bit empty now, but it’s just nice to have somewhere to work again. I need to re-stock my noticeboard with some cool things too. At the moment there’s just the Anthony Burrill postcards I picked up from YCN, a few business cards, an underground map and my 2D yellow pencil ha

I’ve not really mentioned it, but moving home after Uni has been a bit of an emotional roller coaster so far. It feels a bit like a time warp – did I actually go to Uni or did I dream it? My mood is up and down daily as I’m at that scary point in life where everything has changed. For 3 years I had a set path and now I don’t know what will happen in my life. It’s both exciting and terrifying! I’ve got my LSDT and outstanding student awards out to remind myself that it wasn’t all a dream, along with the Wanker bat to bash any negative thoughts on the head.

But anyway, today’s been a good day and I also have some exciting news to share next week. I’ll be working on some freelance work this weekend too, so things are looking up!

Big transitions are like being in limbo. I find I am slow to adapt to changes as well. I like to embrace my positive and negative thoughts and set them aside with room to breathe…find something fun to focus on that gives me a sense of confidence and keep carrying on until I begin to feel “normal” again.

Your desk space is very cute! I love your bouquet.
I just moved out of my parent’s house for the first time about six months ago, and kind of live in terror that my financial situation will explode and I’ll have to move back home. i think it helps to remember that every location and situation is temporary, and that things can always get better! I’m sure you’ll find a fantastic job and a “path” soon. I’m still kind of looking for mine, but for now I am relatively content with the search.
