Wolf in the woods

So today I’m sharing something a bit different.

Whilst at home last weekend I was lucky enough to be able to go along and help out on a photoshoot with 2 local photographers. With my sister (Sophie) and dog (Tia the Husky) as the models, Darina and Luke as the photographers and a quiet Fenland backdrop, it was great fun.

I met Darina through a mutual friend (Lucy) at Uni but didn’t realise she was from my area until later on. She studied Creative Advertising but is an amazingly talented photographer too, and it was really lovely to support a local creative/fellow Lincoln grad as there’s not much of a creative community around my home area. Luke also came along to the shoot as Darina has been sharing her photography pearls of wisdom with him, whilst I acted as dog handler/assistant – I’m definitely more comfortable behind the camera/scenes.

Here’s what it looked like through an iPhone lens:

Red riding hood playing with a wolf in the woods.

It was quite muddy but the sun was out which created some opportunities for gorgeous use of light:

Earlier that morning Darina had made a beautiful floral crown which Sophie wore.

Running in a long white dress and wellies attached to a Husky – this could have easily gone wrong!

What do they say? Never work with children or animals… no, Tia was actually very well behaved(my mum has trained her well) and loved all of the attention!

I think I remember the guys saying they had taken over 1000 photos each and Darina even ran out of space on her memory card! So don’t ask me how she managed to narrow all of the photos down, but here is her pick of the bunch:

Amazing use of light, wouldn’t you agree? And I love the ones with the lamp where it almost looks a big foggy – it had been in the morning but unfortunately had pretty much cleared when it came to shoot time.

Luke’s photos are equally as beautiful:

Lets just say that we know who got all of the photogenic genes in my family (clue: not me).

So I’m always complaining that there’s not much to do in the Fens, but there’s no denying that it’s beautiful and perfect for photoshoots. For more of their amazing photography work, check out their Facebook pages/potfolios here: Darina and Luke.

It’s a lovely series. The photos give the feeling of a fantasy environment with seeming to be trying too hard.
