Bow to the Bao Bao

With my triangle radar on alert ALL THE TIME I have been spotting people around London with an amazing bag for a while but hadn’t managed to find out where it was from. I was in Selfridges the other week when the triangle radar flagged up again:

I had finally found the bags! Designed by Issey Miyake, the collection stems from the idea of “shapes made by chance”, which are innovative shapes that transform according to their use. There’s only one word for it: tritastic!

Due to the nature of the material and geometric triangle pattern the bag is really flexible and can be folded into a few different variations. Triangles – not just a pretty face, they’ve got brains too!

I love the iridescent metallic silver version, and although it would be a tough decision, I think this would be my colour choice. However at £300 I can safely say these beauties are unfortunately way out of my price range. If you’re a crafty type, I found this really good youtube tutorial on how to make your own DIY version for a fraction of the price:

I think I might have a go at my own creation when I’m not still sofa surfing but in the meantime, anyone who is feeling generous and wants to donate a Bao Bao would be a hero in my eyes! Share the triangle love 🙂 Are you loving this bag too? Do you own one? (you lucky thing!)
