What is a bloggy face? Well, it was my (poor) attempt at twisting that old saying ‘not just a pretty face’. Sorry guys!
So you might remember way back in December I asked if you would vote for me in the UK Blog Awards public vote. I didn’t really expect to make it through to the judging stage but you guys came through for me and in February I found out that I had been shortlisted in 2 categories! Thanks again to everyone that voted for Graphique Fantastique – I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. It’s now April, the month of the awards ceremony! I’ll be glamming up on Friday 25th April to meet and hang out with lots of other bloggers.
But as you all know, I’m not just a blogger… I’m a designer by day. When I saw that the Blog Awards were offering the opportunity to design the awards ceremony certificates I knew I wanted to give it a go. The brief was pretty open, it just had to have the awards logo and certain copy on it. Here is the design that I submitted:
I wanted to keep it simple and ‘on brand’, whilst adding a twist. I used the cursor arrow from the logo to symbolise ‘a blogger’ and created a pattern to represent the blogging community coming together at the Blog Awards to celebrate and support each other.
I didn’t win but I was in the top 4 and Gemma (organiser of the UKBA) said they loved my design and that it was a tough call. They have posted a few of the designs on their blog here but the winning design won’t be revealed until the night:
I can’t believe how fast the awards are creeping up on us now and I’m getting excited. I’m not expecting to win, just so honoured to be nominated. My super cool friend Nadia is coming to support me and after searching for over a month I’ve finally bought a dress… just to find the accessories to go with it now!
