Today Graphique Fantastique celebrates posting on wordpress for 2 years! Eeek! I say ‘2 years young’ because old sounds so negative, and I’ve got so much more to give on this blog yet – 2nd year, 3rd year, graduation, trying to get a job and all the bumps along the way! When I’m rich and famous, writing my success story will be so easy because everything will be here…. well, a girl can dream! ๐Ÿ™‚...

It’s been a long while since I last blogged, the longest I think I have gone without posting since I started blogging actually! My excuse? I was mega busy with Uni work until the 14th, finishing off the last two units of first year and then preparing all of my work for digital submission – it took 15 hours to organise! Then next day I jetted off to Tenerife to catch the Island Escape cruise...

… a.k.a getting in the Zine mood! I wish I could get paid to blog but I don’t think it’s really a job is it? Nevermind ๐Ÿ™‚ Working on the most confusing part of the whole Zine process right now – Imposition/pagination! Scary words right there but put simply, page order – a lot harder than you think! I’ve made it a bit harder for myself too because my Zine is A6 size – A5...

I just read back through my last post and realised…. I haven’t really explained the artistic direction of my Zine. (Before you start reading… I’m in a chatty mood so this is going to be a lot of writing! So get a coffee & get comfy!) From my drawings you can get that I am going with what I like to call ‘Type-llustration’ – typographical illustration. It’s completely not me – I’m not an amazing...

Yesterday we got all sketchy in class with some old format technology! Old Macs, Typewriters, Cameras, Floppy Disks, Stereos… the list goes on! Armed with lots of pens, pencils and paints we flexed our creative muscles: As an 80’s child (for 6 days) I decided to take the Neon approach for my stereo… Then in groups of 3 we produced a big drawing, starting from the same point but in each of our own different...

So, it’s been such a busy week and I’ve been really under the weather too which hasn’t helped ๐Ÿ™ Some might know about my love for Harry Potter, so no surprise that I saw it Sunday ๐Ÿ™‚ Come Tuesday, I thought I was actually at Hogwarts! Let me explain… Tuesday has become sketching project/Cafe Nero afternoon day. Last week we had to draw people we wouldn’t usually observe and I expressed my new found love...

Today a group of us got comfy in Nero to do some people watching/ observational drawing. It was my first proper coffee shop coffee – I am completely clueless about all the different coffee types but Helen was kind enough to fill me in ๐Ÿ™‚ย I had a Caramelatte and a Spiced Apple and Pecan Muffin – ย both very yummy! To be honest, I don’t really like drawing because I know I’m not good at it/cannot...
