Happy Triangle Friday! Yes, it’s here – week 52! It’s been a glorious year of Triangles but sadly it has to come to an end 🙁 A few people made recommendations for this last post (the pyramids were a popular choice) but I thought there was only one way to end Tri Fri really, considering the name of my blog… Bonsoir! C’est le Louvre Pyramid! This beautiful glass and metal triangle was built in 1989 (the...

Happy Triangle Friday! Yes, I know it’s Saturday (sorry!) but I’ve been a busy bee recently and again tweeted a ‘Tri Fri on the go’ last night. I haven’t driven for over a year now so it’s weird that recently I started picking up on these triangles around Lincoln but it’s my last week living here and I’m appreciating and noticing a lot more. We see triangles every day on the roads around Britain. They are...

Happy Triangle Friday! Seeing polished work is great but I also really enjoy an insight into the journey, so I was really happy when I saw these photos: Behind the scenes photos, triangles and lovely bright colours – a few of my favourite things thanks to Sandra Fettingis. I’m pretty impressed Sandra’s tri-tastic creations: They are really summery and would definitely improve any wall! The only problem is, how would you choose? Although, why choose...

Happy Triangle Friday! Now, I know technically it’s Saturday but I was a bit busy last night as it was my end of degree show so I tweeted a Tri Fri ‘on the go’ – I think it was a good enough excuse! It was the Show Thirteen private view last night and some of the second years came to help us by manning the bar. They did an amazing job and I’m not just...

Happy Triangle Friday!  I saw these on the Present and correct blog and knew they were perfect for Tri Fri! Spanish artist Ignacio Uriarte has created some tri-tastic shapes and patterns from set squares: I really like these – they’re simple but quirky. Who knew you could have so much fun with mathematical drawing equipment? Have you seen any lovely triangle things recently? If so, get in touch – you know how much I’d love to see it! Enjoy the weekend...

Happy Triangle Friday! I’m still in that busy period at the moment so you’ll have to bear with me, but of course I can’t miss Tri Fri! I’ve not spent much time sleeping recently but the sleep I have had has been enhanced due to the recent purchase of a tri-tastic duvet! You might have spotted it when I posted a snippet from my new additions to the Metamorphosis project: I was in Wilkinsons with...

Happy Triangle Friday! As a girl, I love my clothes, shoes and bags. I follow a few fashion blogs, but I wouldn’t say that I’m a total fashion follower. However, when triangles walk down the catwalk I can’t help but pay attention: I love the light bouncing off and reflections – it’s beautiful. Iris van Herpen‘s work is pure fashion – theatrical, impractical and amazing. She has brilliant attention to detail, here creating here what...

Happy Triangle Friday! It’s mad to think that I’m 10 weeks away from completing a whole years worth of Tri Fri features! I haven’t decided what I’m going to do just yet – would you miss Triangle Fridays if they ended? But before that, there’s still 10 more posts at least! I found Tauba Auerbach’s work on Pinterest the other week and was instantly drawn to it. I wonder why…? The splash on her website...

Happy Triangle Friday everyone! On Monday I was linked to (thanks Philippa) an article about triangular flapjacks that had been causing trouble. Did you hear about it? At a school in Essex, triangular shaped flapjacks have been banned after being used as a ‘weapon’ in an argument between two students. Apparently they’re too dangerous and so all flapjacks must now be square shaped – even though squares have 4 corners and triangles only 3. Absolutely...

Happy Triangle Friday! Today I begin with a quote from one of my tutors: ‘Triangles will save the world.’ – John Stocker 2013. John is a very knowledgable man, so obviously it’s 100% true. Remember, you heard it here first! But until then, triangles will save your Friday evening. I’ve been following the work of Illustrator Niki Pilkington for a while now and I can’t get enough of it: Her lifelike pencil illustrations mixed with...

(So I scheduled this post for last night at 9PM and it’s taken me until now to realise that it didn’t post! So sorry, but looks like it’s Triangle Saturday today haha) Happy Triangle Friday! You might have seen my posts about my room being emptied/ now empty. I’ve been living without my possessions as an experiment to see what it feels like and if I actually need all of my stuff. The findings? I...

Happy Triangle Friday! The other evening advertising student, Adam Holcroft, tweeted me saying ‘saw this and thought of you’ with a link. I didn’t really know what to expect, but felt like living life on the edge opened it to find this: Krystall is a branding and packaging project about a triangular chocolate bar by Riccardo Carlet. Triangles and chocolate? Possibly the best combination ever! Obviously there is already everyone’s favourite triangular bar, Toblerone, but...

Happy Triangle Friday! So yesterday was Valentines Day. Whatever your view (retail gimmick or romantic celebration), in the spirit of love, I found the perfect tutorial on Design & Paper which shows you how to make this: Take some triangles… … and make a cool heart 🙂 Simple, effective and looks great in a frame! You could use patterned paper, magazine cut outs or photos of that special someone to create a personal and original piece. And...

Happy Triangle Friday! This week, I’ve been working with brightly coloured triangles for my D&AD brief. The other week, during my research, I came across this set of Tangram notebooks by Tuğrul Peker. I think they’re pretty awesome:                         So 2 of the notebooks aren’t triangular, but 5 are! Each has a different type of paper – big lines, small lines, dotted, gridded and plain. This...

Happy Triangle Friday everyone! This week I’ve been working with bright coloured paper for a competition brief, so I thought Mademoiselle Maurice’s work was quite fitting: Her colourful origami street art brightens walls around Paris and I love it! It reminds me of Triangle Friday #18, where I used leaves to create a triangle. Watch Madamoiselle Maurice create her tri-tastic work: She also collaborated on a project titled ‘Urban Nature‘. The 3 artists involved have...
